The library is heaven and hell at the same time

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

Hello mates!

It sure is hard to keep up updating blogs daily, especially when your internet quota is depleted. Finally recharged my quota yesterday though. awesome. If you are wondering why i put that title, it's because i found out that the library in my uni is really beautiful, and often populated with attractive people. But, it is so big, it is quite challenging to find the book i want. On top of that, I ended up borrowing a book from the reserve section, and returned it 22 hours late, which resulted in a $ 20 fine. sucks. Must becareful next time. Anyway, must go back to my mountains of assignments.. cheers!

this weeks cool stuff:

Damn it! I want this camera! It has really cool analog gauges on top of it.http://www.businesswire.com/portal/site/home/permalink/?ndmViewId=news_view&newsId=20090223005300&newsLang=en

Chapter II: Lost in Perth

Monday, February 23, 2009

Hi mates!

A week since my arrival in the city of Perth has passed by, the summer weather is still quite hot and warm most of the time. The view is spectacular, the people are friendly, and the food just makes me craving for more. Uni life starts to bite on my spine, but I keep on going.
I've got lost several times in my campus, because it is quite humongous for me.

btw, for you guys who are new in Perth an need transport info check this web:

www.transperth.wa.gov.au

and for foreigners who just arrived, especially students make sure you have registered your Overseas Student Health Cover at this web:

A whole new world

Tuesday, February 17, 2009

Oi there mate!

I know it's been a while since I last updated this blog..
The reason is because is that I just moved to Perth, Australia to study games technology in Murdoch University. It is a double degree/partnership program offered by my BINUS INTERNATIONAL university. I have been busy settling down a lot of stuff, due to the last minute preparation and late enrollment. Perth so far seems to be and ideal city for me to live and study in.
It is so peaceful, systematic and clean. Btw, my campus is so big (234 hectars), I get lost all the time. Like yesterday, I got half an hour late because it took me time finding the class.
Culture shock and adaptation to the environment is quite an issue for me at the moment.. It is totally a different world here. The people are so different, the weather is quite strange. But I tend to enjoy it most of the time.

Well that's all for today, must start learning C# and XNA for making games.

Today's cool stuff:

Enrollment confirmed, Still waiting for VISA!

Wednesday, February 4, 2009

Sorry didn't have time to write a new post yesterday.

I was on the road all day, morning I had an Advanced Game Development Exam, which turned out okay, then I went to my Highschool to attend an alumni dialog session, after that I popped in to my gf's house and watched Yes Man! Yes Man was a really entertaining movie, I really recommend this one!

Then after that I went to a VCOI(volvo club of indonesia) new forum member who lived nearby my house in Bali View (around 15 mins) to get a VADIS (Volvo After Sales Diagnostics and Information System) DVD. Which I think might be useful in the future. I intended to stay for a short while, but I ended up having a very long chat untill almost midnight. Then returned back home because I was starting to feel worn out and exhausted.

Today I woke up early because I had to accompany and help my mom in making a taxpayers ID card in Serpong. So far away.. that's why we had to leave 7 am from home.

Traffic jams sucks.

Once we reached there, we were quite pleased that the registration was quite fast and simple. Maybe because we came early. The early bird gets most of the worms.

Then we rushed back home because I needed to go to take a dump, but the road was still suffering with plenty of rush hour traffic jams... what a trial...

After reaching home, I felt really relieved..

Not along after that, I immediately went out again to go to my highschool Alizhar to say goodbye to my teachers and try to sell some Binus International registration forms. Although I ended up coming home with an empty hand, but i managed to have a heart filled up with inner satisfaction.

Reaching home I immediately jumped on my bed to take make up the lack of sleep I lost for 2 days. My cellphone ringing woke me up, which turns out to be the Binus Student Services who notifies that the CoE (confirmation of enrollment) has arrived from Murdoch Univ and she has forwarded it to me. I immediately hopped out of the bed and checked my email. The next thing I had to do was activate my murdoch student online account, which failed because the system didn't recognize my ID number... what a pain in the groin!

Btw, a few days a mail containing free stickers I ordered from http://www.shell.com/motorsport
just arrived after 3 weeks of waiting. Check out the pics:

Sunday morning rain is falling

Sunday, February 1, 2009

Sunday morning rain is falling(literally!)

Woke up today with the rain still falling, and my heart still raining.
After a night full of concentration, studying for my final exams until 1.30 am.

List of things completed today:

- Eating
- Studying
- Studying at friends place
- Doing NPWP registration for my mom, which is very complicated, and ended giving up for now, needs assistance.
- Sitting in front of laptop making money little by little
- Writing this blog

Counting down the days till I depart from this city, there are many things I'm gonna miss:

1. The Love (parents, girlfriend, family)
2. The Spice (awesome food, friends, and events)
3. The Passion (crazy places, experiences and stuff you can do)
4. The Fortune (everything is cheaper here)

On the other hand, I gonna be glad that I will avoid these stuff:

1. The Traffic (streets, overcrowded places, chaos)
2. The Dirt (lack of hygiene in various things)
3. The Pollution (everything that is polluted around us)

Well that's all from my personal part.

Here are some of today's picks:

Transformers 2 Teaser:

Okay, this is wrong:

Who wouldn't want this watch:

No, it would not play the game on the watch, but it is really cool though.
